Hello, It’s Your B&B Bestie

2026 is a new page in the book for me. Working with B&B’s since 2016, it has been a labor of love. Learning the ropes of what goes on behind the scenes, learning the craft of making something beautiful, and learning the form of stellar customer service, all from people who really cared and understood the audience they served. When I began consulting for B&B’s, I found that I kept hitting the same roadblock. Getting the guest connected with the B&B.

Considering that each B&B is a small business, they don’t have big budgets for getting the word out. With a world bombarded with ads in every corner, you need a big megaphone for guests to even hear a whisper. There isn’t a great, or even a good way, for guests to find out about B&B’s. In fact, the current generation continues to be further detached from the traditional B&B, that a generous amount of education is necessary to show why bed and breakfasts are the superior choice. Given the situation, it’s reasonable to wonder, if B&B’s are destined for the history books and novels.

That is the “why” behind B&B Bestie. Supporting the small business B&B and giving the guest a key to the world of Bed and Breakfast travel. Here I hope to highlight the best of what B&B’s in Lancaster County (and beyond) have to offer. Both giving the B&B owners the spotlight they wouldn’t necessarily seek after and giving the guest an alternative to big box hotels and airbnb’s that they are beginning to search for.

So, why start in Lancaster, PA?

Lancaster, PA is my hometown. It’s where my heart is no matter where I travel in the world. Even when I was much younger, I loved to be the travel guide to those who visited the area – or even locals who rendered to Lanco the label “boring”. When people emphatically said, “nothing happens here”, I responded with a quick and positive, “well, have you heard of…” Being a connector between people and places is just in my DNA, and when I, by happenstance, landed in the world of B&B’s, it felt like I found my people.

I hope people who read my blog or connect with me on socials can feel that they are being talked to by a friend, someone who knows and loves Lancaster like a local. I hope they can find a place to getaway and reconnect with their family and friends. And finally, I hope they find a B&B that feels like a home they’ve always known. 2026 is a new page in the book for me, and that page is full of possibilities.

Sincerely, Your B&B Bestie, Sara
