A little oasis in the small town of Willow Street just south of Lancaster City, this charmer boasts great reviews for a reason. Each of its 5 rooms and suites has private ensuite bathrooms with 2 rooms set aside for family stays. The lawn and outdoor seating provides plenty of space for a cozy evening outdoors or little ones to get some energy out.  With a hot made breakfast each morning, this classic B&B is a great option for anyone.

“The innkeeper’s are a wonderful family that are extremely kind. They are great with just the right amount of socializing with Guest. I choose not to snack at night because I’m looking forward to the peace. They prepare for breakfast. Very delicious. 3. B.F. Hiestand House Bed & Breakfast

This grand Victorian home in the quaint town of Marietta welcomes its visitors both indoor and out with expansive sitting porches and beautifully appointed rooms. Walk right into a magazine when you step into your room or suite with private ensuite. Pam and Dallas, veteran B&B owners since 2000, are well versed in making each guest feel like this cozy spot is their home away from home.

“So this was our sixth stay with Pam and Dallas.  We felt comfortable the first time and now they are like family.  The house is always spotless and comfy, breakfasts are filling, nutritious, and wonderful, and the innkeepers are delightful and very helpful. “We loved  our stay at the B F Hiestand House.  Our room was superior.  The bed was super comfy.   The bathroom was a mix of modern and historic.  There was huge walk-in shower and the house’s original stain glass window and tile.  The porch was a pure delight to sit and relax. The host were wonderful, friendly and helpful.   Both of the breakfasts were delicious.  Everything was homemade.  This is great bed and breakfast in historic Marietta in Lancaster county.” (5 Stars – Helen C.)

For those who want an authentic Lancaster County Experience away from all the tourist traps, staying on a working farm is about as authentic as it can get. “We had a wonderful experience at Verdant View.  We rented the cottage for our 3 generation family – including 3 children under 5.  They loved interacting with the farm animals (cows, chickens, goats, rabbits) and playing on the playground in the backyard.  The farm breakfast was excellent and they were able to more than meet our gluten free dietary needs.  The food was delicious!  The fully stocked cottage kitchen made it very easy to prepare dinners “at home” rather than having to eat at restaurants with 3 little ones.  Their grass-fed beef, available at the farm store, is delicious!  The beds were very comfortable and there was more than enough room for 9 of us to have space.  The location is excellent, also – close to many attractions (including Strasburg Railroad) and lots of locally raised meats and produce.   We haven’t been home a week and I’m ready to go back!  The farm crew made us feel like family, not visitors.  Highly recommend this property for active families who are not afraid to get a taste of life on a farm.” (5 Stars – Michael B.)

“If I could give more stars I would. Elisa and her farm crew truly offer an amazing and enriching farm experience. Rooms are immaculate and meticulously kept, farm property is beautiful and well maintained. Upon arriving at Verdant View Farm you are greeted by the stunning property and gorgeous view that seems to go on forever. The main house is beautiful with native flowers and plants blooming all around. The veranda (where breakfast is served daily) faces out to the farm where you can see cows grazing in the pasture and hear the subtle cluck of happy chickens.  

Morning chores are anything but chores! The farm crew offers the opportunity to learn first hand how to properly milk a cow, feed a part of their herd, look for chicken eggs, and answer any questions. 

After morning chores you wash up quick and sit down to a delicious home cooked breakfast on the veranda with all of the guests. Each morning the breakfast is different and is delicious as the next. Expecting a mini box of cereal with a small milk? No way. Be prepared to feed on pasture raised eggs, different types of sausage, home made yogurt and fruit, and of course a sweet pie or cake. 

After breakfast you are free to roam the beautiful property, shop in the farm store, and even revisit the animals. Like I said Elisa and her crew offer an amazing experience. You will not be disappointed.” (5 Stars – Nicole)

5. Olde Stone Guesthouse Bed & Breakfast

Take one turn off of Route 30 (the main thoroughfare around here) and you’ll be transported into a country wonderland. The Old Stone Guesthouse gives you that ‘lost in the countryside’ experience while keeping you close to the excitement that Lancaster County gives you. This 18th century farmhouse is well appointed with Lancaster County charm and warm handmade quilts. Wander the grounds with plenty to see and beautiful sunset views. “What an amazing experience!!! My wife and I stayed the weekend while we were in the area for a wedding. I wanted to stay at a bed and Breakfast and saw the reviews of how amazing Florence was to talk with and how amazing the food is. Just know the amazing reviews can’t truly describe how awesome everything is. Everything is homemade and Florence is a truly authentic kind person.
